The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is a key member of the school’s leadership team and oversees the overall operational functions and leads the administration of the German International School (GISSV), which consists of the following departments: Facilities & Transportation, IT, Marketing & Communication, Admissions, IT, Front Office, Health & Safety, Development, Library and HR. This role is responsible for ensuring effective financial management, compliance, and organizational efficiency to support the school’s mission and long-term sustainability. The CAO works closely with the Head of School and other division leaders to align administrative processes with strategic goals. In addition, the CAO manages budgeting, reporting, and resource allocation to ensure fiscal responsibility and transparency. Reporting directly to the Head of School, this position plays a vital role in shaping the school’s operational success and supporting a thriving learning environment. Essential Functions Oversee and manage the activities of direct reports, conduct performance reviews and provide appropriate training and development opportunities. Oversee and manage data collection & analysis and information management and prepares trend reports, including but not limited to developing data report templates for each department and preparing trend reports to the Board/HoS to support ongoing strategic development of the school Ensure department heads adhere to policies on business processes and serve as point of contact for business alignment within the leadership team Participate on Board committees as needed Leads Administrative Team meetings, appropriate sub-committee meetings and supports society (membership) meetings (two per year) Lead school advancement team (admissions, marketing and communication, development) and serve as point person for advancement related This is an immediate opening.
