Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities or District designee, the Senior Driver develops, schedules and conducts classroom and behind-the-wheel training, as well as continuing training to Bus Drivers and driver trainees; administers driving performance tests/evaluations; maintains official District bus driver training records; performs the full range and duties of a Bus Driver; and performs related work as required.
Requirements / Qualifications
1. Must successfully complete a pre-employment medical examination and be free of communicable disease. Must meet the district and state standards for physical and mental health. Must successfully complete a medical examination as required by the DMV every two years. 2. High School graduate or equivalent. 3. Must possess the following documents issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles a. Class B Driver’s License with a Passenger Endorsement b. A California State School Bus Driver’s Certificate c. DMV Physical Certificate 4. Thorough knowledge of the California Motor Vehicle Code, the Education Code, and other state laws as applicable to school transportation, and traffic ordinances of Los Angeles County. Must understand safety regulations and techniques, including, but not limited to special needs students, disciplining of students for bus safety and community inquiries. 5. Must have a safe driving record in compliance with the California Vehicle Code. 6. First Aide/CPR Certification
