Job Summary
The job of Supervisor – Maintenance and Grounds is done for the purpose(s) of ensuring compliance with work order and relevant trade standards; maintaining an attractive school grounds/areas for students, staff, and public; a safe and secure working environment; provide documentation for audit purposes; meeting District, State, and Federal requirements; convey information related to professional requirements, new products and technology; ensuring availability of required equipment; protecting against erosion; maintaining grounds for assembly and recreational activities; ensuring assignments are completed in a safe and timely manner and directing assigned workers as necessary within authorized financial budget.
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience: Job related experience in a building or construction trade at a Journeyman Level with increasing levels of responsibility is required. Supervisory experience in instructing and directing employees in the proper methods of installation, repair, and maintenance of School and District buildings, infrastructure, and grounds. Knowledge of: Building and Construction, County, State, and Federal regulations, policies, and codes. Education: Targeted job related education that meets organization’s prerequisite requirements, Associate’s Degree in Business Administration/Management/Construction Management or related preferred. High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
