Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the principal, provides special instruction to individuals and/or small groups of middle school students who have not acquired the skills in keeping with their instruction provided in the regular classroom. As a member of the child study team, assists psychologist with diagnosing academic deficiencies.

Requirements / Qualifications

1. Physically, mentally, emotionally, and morally fit to undertake responsibilities involving the health, safety, and welfare of children. Must successfully complete a pre-employment medical examination and be free of communicable disease. 2. Holds a valid and current Specialist Instruction Credential in Special Education. 3. Bachelor's Degree, including all courses needed to meet appropriate credential requirements. 4. Must be able to adapt to working in spaces not normally used for group instruction when regular classroom space is not available. 5. Knowledge of current trends and research concerning growth and development of Special Education pupils, and participates in courses or workshops relevant to the above assignment at least once each year is desirable.

Required: A cover letter, current resume, transcripts, credential with authorization(s), test scores, and three current supervisory letters of recommendation.
