BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of a program administrator, perform the necessary tasks to oversee and implement health services including the development of emergency and/or medical health care plans; ensure health compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and California Community Care Licensing regulations and requirements; assess, refer and provide for the health needs of enrolled Head Start children and expectant mothers; develop and disseminate health education information to teachers, parents, and children.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from an accredited Registered Nurse Program and one year registered nursing experience desirable. THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH YOUR APPLICATION: (ALL Applicants, both Internal & External MUST submit these documents with their application) - Valid California Registered Nurse License with expiration date

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS: The following documents are not required at the time of application but will be required of the selected applicant prior to employment: Valid Driver's License, DOJ/FBI/CACI clearance, TB clearance, Pre-Employment Physical/Drug Screen clearance.
Upon hire or within (6) months of hire, valid Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) approved CPR and First Aid Certification covering adult, child, and infant (pediatric) using any of the following curricula: - American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), or - American Heart Association (AHA), or - American Red Cross (ARC), or - Pediatric CPR and First Aid offered at accredited colleges and universities
BENEFITS: A Benefit Entitlement for health, dental and vision coverage is available for positions that are at least 4 hours per day. The amount of the entitlement is based on the number of hours worked per day.
