
Associate Dean of Distance Education and Professional Development at Mt. San Jacinto College
Requirements / Qualifications
We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Dean of Distance Education and Professional Development located at our campus in Menifee, CA. Under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Instruction, the Associate Dean of Distance Education and Professional Development will assume primary responsibility for professional development programs and provide leadership in distance education courses and programs district wide. The Associate Dean will assist in the planning and developing of academic programs in collaboration with faculty, classified professionals, and other educational institutions and agencies. In addition, the Associate Dean will promote courses/workshops and services, curriculum, and course development and evaluation. The Associate Dean has managerial responsibilities over faculty and staff associated with programs of this position. This is an administrative position, exempt from overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, with responsibility for formulation and recommendation of district policies, regulations and budget decisions related to the area of responsibility.
Initial placement on the salary schedule will be commensurate with education and experience, along with a cell phone allowance stipend. This is a 12-month administrative position with day and evening assignments. Academic administrators serve under contract and make contributions toward CalSTRS (a retirement plan). Benefit package includes comprehensive medical, dental and vision plans, life insurance, sick leave, and 22 days of vacation per year. While this current vacancy is expected at the Menifee Valley Campus, Administrators serve District-wide and may be assigned to the San Jacinto Campus, the Menifee Valley Campus, the Temecula Valley Campus, or any District facility. Additional openings that become available prior to the end of the hiring process may also be filled from the qualified applicants. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. A Master's degree; (attach transcripts) AND 2. One (1) year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator's assignment; AND 3. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff ***Before scanning attachments, remove/redact sensitive, confidential information such as date of birth, social security number, and photograph***
