Job Summary

Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, Program Manager, and/or the Assistant Superintendent of Charter Alternative Programs, the Extended Day Program Coordinator supports the delivery of welcoming, safe, and enriching educational environments for students. This position assists in implementing the objectives of the Extended Day Program while ensuring that daily operations are carried out smoothly and effectively. The Program Coordinator provides guidance and support to center staff, helping to ensure consistent student supervision, positive behavior management, and the successful facilitation of enrichment and recreational activities. The Program Coordinator also assists with program logistics, including staff scheduling, attendance tracking, training, and onboarding of new employees. In addition to these responsibilities, the Program Coordinator may also: • Step in to assist at centers as program staff when needed, ensuring continuity of care and smooth daily operations. • Contribute to data collection and reporting requirements. • Support special projects designed to enhance program quality and responsiveness. This position is well-suited for individuals who are organized, collaborative, and dedicated to youth development. By bridging the work of program leadership and frontline staff, the Program Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring that each student’s Extended Day experience reflects the mission and values of the program.

Requirements / Qualifications

Job Requirements - Qualifications • Experience: Prior job-related experience. • Education: A.A. degree or equivalent and 12 E.C.E. units preferred; experience as instructor in a child daycare or in an educational setting required.
