Under general supervision from the Director of the Assessment Development and Administration Division (ADAD), the Education Programs Consultant will independently perform all duties as the state coordinator for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) and international assessments.
Responsibilities include:
*Develop and maintain state NAEP work plans, budgets, and activity reports for submission to the National Center for Education Statistics.
*Provide technical assistance and direction for the coordination and administration for NAEP.
*Analyze reports and disseminate NAEP results.
*Recruit schools for the NAEP sample.
*Provide assistance for communication of NAEP information to parents of children selected and the general public.
*Maintain the California Department of Education NAEP website.
*Prepares, validates the accuracy and security of reports, special studies and correspondence.
*Reviews proposed and existing legislation for possible impact to assessment data, programs and processes.
*Performs site visits as necessary for assessment purposes.
*Perform other job-related duties as required
