Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Performing Arts Center (PAC) Theater Manager or assigned supervisor, the Performing Arts Center Theater Technician oversees all technical functions of the PAC, including sound, lighting, set design and construction. The Theater Technician will support the PAC Theater Manager in the use and maintenance of the PAC and other district facilities for event specific needs, assists in coordinating the use of PAC facilities for internal and external users; collaborates with other district departments regarding specific technical needs for productions and events, oversees, and directs theater staff and volunteers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by college-level or comparable courses in theater production, stage craft or related field; three years’ experience with increasing levels of responsibility in the operation of sound and lighting equipment and maintenance of audio-visual and stage equipment.

Examination Information: Exams are required for ALL applicants Multiple dates will be available Substitute positions are on-call, at will employees. Hours vary depending on performances and needs of the Performing Arts Center. OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Applicants selected for permanent or substitute assignments are required to pay for fingerprinting services and obtain Tuberculosis results prior to beginning work.
