Requirements / Qualifications

SUMMARY Under the direction of an assigned administrator, participate in the preparation of classified and special payrolls; maintain assigned payroll and retirement records and documentation; audit, balance, and control designated school districts’ payroll runs; participate in the preparation of reports for employees’ Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) retirement plans; serve as a resource to employees, Madera County Superintendent of Schools (MCSOS) staff, school districts, and outside agencies. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school or the equivalent supplemented by college-level coursework in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field and three years of payroll or financial recordkeeping experience including one year of payroll-related experience in a school district or county office. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license. Incumbents must be insurable by the liability carrier for the Madera County Superintendent of Schools.
