Summary: The Nutrition Warehouse Coordinator will support and assist the Department of Child Nutrition with warehouse scheduling, inventory and procurement procedures, under the supervision of the Child Nutrition Director. Specific Responsibilities: 1.Supervises and evaluates all warehouse staff. 2.Assists Child Nutrition Director with formal bids and procurement procedures. 3.Assists in coordinating special projects to benefit nutrition programs. 4.Assists in problem solving and in providing information for food services and office personnel. 5.Input and management of the nutritional software program regarding inventory and ordering for individual sites and vendors. Maintains inventory to ensure availability of supplies as needed. 6.Maintains relationships with vendor reps and attends food shows for new product ideas. 7.Maintains relationships and accounts with local producers and farmers involved in local procurement of products. 8.Assists in the design and marketing of menus and recipes for all meal programs. 9.Coordinate with individual cafeteria sites to facilitate ordering, delivery and proper inventory tracking. 10. Manages schedules of warehouse staff as well as all shipping and delivery schedules. 11. Collects and tracks all receipt invoices from individual cafeteria sites. 12. Assists in the compilation and submission of appropriate documents with the State Child Nutrition Department and the Federal USDA. 13. Supervises and trains employees as related to warehouse safety, deliveries and inventory. 14. Participates in all pertaining meetings, personal development, mandatory module requirements and conferences as needed. 15. Assist with all department audits. 16. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: Experience in Child Nutrition/Commercial Food Services with at least 5 years of increasing responsibility required. Associates Level Degree or higher preferred. Management experience preferred. Warehouse and integrated inventory tracking experience on management level preferred. SERVSAFE Safety Manager certificate required or ability to attain within 30 days of hire. Knowledge of products and materials used in a school nutrition program, pertinent codes, policies, regulations and/or laws and quantity buying techniques. License Requirements: Possess a valid California Vehicle Operator’s License. Condition of Employment: Insurability by the District liability carrier.
