Job Summary

Mountainside Success Academy (MSA) is an alternative program designed with the whole child approach, which includes smaller class sizes, more 1:1 assistance, independent study and direct instruction opportunities, and multiple choices for a flexible schedule. Students are scheduled in a flex model and attend school 1-4 days per week, Monday through Thursday. MSA also offers Advanced Education classes at Folsom Lake College, opportunities for early graduation, credit recovery, and many other wrap-around services. MSA is a supportive environment where building strong relationships with students and families is the foundation of our program. This is a 40-hour per week position, 8 hours Monday through Friday. It is at Mountainside Success Academy on the El Dorado County Office of Education campus. This position will work directly with the administration, teachers, classified staff, students and families, and various county agencies that provide student resources. Job duties will include, but are not limited to: • Student supervision • Some student transportation via EDCOE vans • Academic and Social Emotional classroom support • Participate in student wellness activities under the supervision of the administration and the mental health clinician. • Project-based staff collaboration for events and school community initiatives • Work with administration and classified staff to support vulnerable youth, i.e. Foster, McKinney-Vento, trauma-affected • Documentation and record keeping • Support families/students in accessing resources for unmet needs Key qualities necessary for this position: • Authentic relationship building through active listening • Operate with empathy and compassion • Creative problem solving • Google Document experience is preferable • Student information systems experience is preferable • Knowledge of accessing community resources is preferable Please review our website at http://msa.edcoe.org for more information about our

Job Requirements - Qualifications: • Experience: Prior job-related experience within a school setting and experience providing counseling and crisis intervention to children, adolescents, and their families preferred. • Education: Associate degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Certification as a Wellness Coach I or II from the California Department of Health Access and Information is required.
