HUMANITIES Chair 6-12 Qualifications · Los Angeles Leadership Academy employee · Teaching Credential · Knowledgeable of LALA policies and procedures · Proficient in the implementation of technology · Effective Communication Skills · Satisfactory Evaluations Currently Teaching English or History Responsibilities • Support teachers with English, ELD, and History Instructional Programs, approved curriculum and teaching strategies through class observations, demonstrated lessons and/or meetings; follow-up with constructive non-evaluative feedback. • Support new English & History teachers by holding at least one monthly meeting to review school-wide programs, expectations, teaching strategies and guide teachers to improve instruction. • Hold at least 2 meetings per semester to review data (CAASPP, ELPAC, iReady, NWEA, and Attendance) • Meet with Administration at least once a month • Maintain a folder (Google Drive) with evidence of work as a HUMANITIES Chair • Hold monthly meetings with English & History Teachers (at least 1 meeting a month) • Establish and maintain a trusting and supportive relationship with colleagues • Oversee the planning of the school-wide (6-8) Spelling Bee (Winter or Spring).
