Table Mountain Rancheria in Friant, California has an immediate opening for a Part-Time Speech Therapist to work in the Table Mountain Rancheria Academy. Final candidate will need to pass an extensive background check. Job Summary: The Speech Therapist is responsible for planning and conducting speech therapy programs designed to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and social communication disorders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates patients to assess the level of speech difficulty. Conducts various vocalization tests to determine the extent of patient communication ability
  • Identifies specific treatment options and subsequently designs and implements an individualized treatment plan aimed at helping patients restore function in the areas of speech, language, hearing, and oral motor disorders
  • Counsels patients and their families on how to cope with speech-related disorders
  • Evaluates and documents treatment progress, implementing treatment changes when necessary
  • Keeps detailed records of student evaluations, IEPs, therapy session notes, and progress reports in compliance with federal, state, and school district policies
  • Stays current with best practices, licensure requirements, and innovations in speech-language pathology

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education/Experience

  • Typically requires a bachelor or master degree or three (3) to five (5) years related experience as well as other relevant educational or work experience unless otherwise waived by Tribal Council
  • Speech Therapist Certification
