About the Employer

The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County’s most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. In addition to providing direct instruction to students through its own alternative and special education programs, OCDE administers an array of programs and services that are critical to the operations of local school districts and community colleges, facilitating professional development, legal guidance, payroll, career and technical education support, high-speed internet access, Local Control and Accountability Plan assistance and approval, resources for families, and student enrichment. Job Summary

The Orange County Department of Education is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable professional to serve as Manager, Educational Services. This leadership position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing a range of educational programs within the Educational Services Division. The Manager will ensure program alignment with organizational goals, build effective partnerships with school districts and community agencies, manage budgets, and lead a team of dedicated staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative experience, deep knowledge of educational strategies and assessment practices, and a demonstrated ability to foster collaboration across diverse stakeholders to support student success. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in curriculum and instruction, technology integration, program evaluation, and budget management. They will play a critical role in enhancing the quality of instruction across Orange County by fostering innovation, equity, and excellence in educational services. Requirements / Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: • Bachelor's degree in education, management, communications, or a related field. • Five (5) years of educational experience, including two (2) years of administrative experience in a public school setting; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Licenses, Certificates, and Special Requirements: • A valid California credential authorizing instruction or service in a public school program. • A valid California Administrative credential.
