The Special Education Classroom Behavior Intervention Aide supports students with special needs in both general and special education settings by providing behavioral, academic, and social-emotional assistance. Under the direction of the classroom teacher and school staff, this role implements behavior intervention plans, assists with instructional activities, and ensures a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment. Responsibilities include de-escalating challenging behaviors, reinforcing positive replacement skills, tutoring individuals or small groups, maintaining accurate student records, and collaborating with staff to promote student growth. The position requires patience, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond calmly in high-stress situations while fostering positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
