ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: CARPENTRY • Perform skilled maintenance work in one or more of the building and automobile trades. • May specialize in a particular craft such as carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, heating and ventilating work, painting and waterproofing, auto-mechanics or a craft requiring specialized skills. • Participate in preventative maintenance, in emergency repair, and in new construction. • When assigned to a particular craft, may participate in any of the following: ? Alter, repair, and construct articles and structures of wood, performing necessary mill or cabinet work. ? Install sheet rock to walls and ceilings; tape, mud and texture new sheet rock surfaces. ? Hang doors, installs and repairs window sashes and frames. ? Lays and repairs wooden, asphalt tile , concrete and other types of floors. ? Repairs roofs, using tar, roofing and other materials. ? Reads blue-prints, makes sketches of proposed projects, makes cost estimates on time and materials and recommends materials and tools for purchase. ? Perform miscellaneous glazing repairs. ? Perform miscellaneous locksmith repairs.

Comments and Other Information
Five years of increasingly responsible experience in one or more of the general building trades including at least three years at journey level or three years of successful experience as maintenance worker in the Pacifica School District. Plumbing experience a plus.
Paid sick and vacation, Member of Public Employees Retirement System, full family medical and dental benefits equivalent to Kaiser and Delta Dental.
