SCOE Substitute Head Start Assistant Application Must be at least 18 years of age. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school required. Enrollment in college for the purpose of completing a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher level permit preferred.

Dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate specialized apparatus (e.g. latches, levers and switches on certain devices like gates, cribs, and playground equipment) and standard office and classroom equipment.
Pushing, pulling, lifting light-medium weighted objects.
Frequently standing, walking and sitting.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
A pre-employment physical/drug screen clearance, DOJ/CACI fingerprint clearance and TB clearance will be required prior to employment.
May be required to provide own transportation.
HAZARDS:
Blood-borne pathogens and body fluids.
Communicable diseases.
IMMUNIZATIONS: Must comply with Senate Bill 792 immunization requirements for influenza, pertussis, and measles.
PLEASE NOTE:
Due to the new CALPERS requirements, retirees may not substitute for the first 180 days after their retirement date.
