Menlo School is seeking an exceptional individual to lead the middle school athletic program. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the successful candidate will have sport administrative experience either at the middle school, high school, college and/or elite club level, the ability to manage coaches and staff, effectively communicate to a wide range of constituents, strong organizational skills and the ability to build strong relationships with middle school student-athletes and instill invaluable life lessons. This is a 12 month, full time position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide oversight, organization, direction, and administration to the middle school athletic program. Hire, supervise, evaluate and lead Middle School Athletics coaches and administrative personnel as assigned, with a focus on development, team effectiveness, and human resource compliance. Develop middle school physical education curriculum. Select middle school teams and assign coaching staff to those teams. Represent the School in middle school league meetings. Consistently and effectively communicate with coaches, students, staff, teachers and parents. Serve as an Advocate to middle school students as part of the Advocacy program. Manage the middle school athletic budget. Identify, develop and implement integration opportunities between the middle and upper school Athletics departments. Further develop and act as liaison with the Booster Program. Stay current with Athletics rules and policies within the WBAL and CCS. Work collaboratively and effectively with coaches, teachers, Athletic Trainers, Sports Performance Coaches, Facilities personnel and other functions across School. Work with parents, faculty, staff and students in a constructive manner - even under stressful conditions.
