Job Summary
The Waugh School District is implementing a new districtwide Physical Education (PE) program beginning in August 2025. Under the direction of a certificated PE Lead, two classified Physical Education Instructional Aides (IAs)—one at Meadow Elementary and one at Corona Creek Elementary—will support the delivery of high-quality PE instruction. Desired Qualifications: Enthusiasm for working with elementary-aged children in an active setting Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and follow instructional direction Comfort participating in physical activity and demonstrating basic movement skills Strong organizational habits, reliability, and a positive, team-oriented attitude Previous experience working in a school, youth recreation, or coaching setting is preferred but not required Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent Must be able to pass fingerprint and TB clearance Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, often on uneven terrain Must be able to work outside in seasonal weather conditions Assignment Details: Location: One IA each at Meadow and Corona Creek Schedule: 7 hours per week each Duration: 10 month classified work calendar Supervision: Reports to site administrator and collaborates with certificated PE Lead Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Partner with classroom teachers to implement planned PE lessons Actively participate in and support instruction during PE classes Ensure fidelity to the district's PE scope and sequence Assist with equipment setup, use, and organization, including the integrated Perceptual Movement (IPM) Room Collaborate regularly with the certificated PE Lead and other site PE staff Allocate time weekly for collaboration, lesson prep, and setup/cleanup
