We are looking for a committed Education Specialist to complement our qualified workforce of educators. You will be involved in the preparation and implementation of a full educational teaching plan according to the student’s needs. The Adult Transition Education Specialist will be responsible for designing and implementing IEP’s and ITP’s that will result in introducing our students to postsecondary education and the greater workforce. The ideal candidate will be passionate for the job with an ability to connect with students and community members alike, helping forge relationships that will result in lasting job and educational opportunities. This candidate should be well versed in the needs and requirements of adult transition programming and have a passion for setting students up for the rest of their lives. Duties and Responsibilities • Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning. • Plan and execute educational in-class activities and events. • Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars and conferences. • Observe and understand student's behavior and psyche and make recommendations for the student. • Design and Implement Individualized Education Plans in accordance with state standards and individual student needs and interests. • Design and implement Individualized Transition Plans in accordance with student ability, goals, family wishes, and potential. • Pursue and create volunteer, educational and working opportunities for students, exposing them to the opportunities before them once they graduate. • Conduct interest inventories regularly to remain in touch with students career and post-secondary goals. • Access and record student's progress via data collection and provide progress reports in accordance with benchmark deadlines. Professional Requirements • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution. • California Special Education Credential for Mild/Modera
