Duties include implementing a meaningful after-school experience for our students and ensuring that students are safe and well cared for. Job Description 

Hourly Employee Position, Non-Benefitted 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE / YARD SUPERVISOR

 

Job Summary: 

Under the supervision of the Administrative Director/Principal, the Yard Supervisor/Instructional Aide will: oversee the activities of students on the playground using independent judgment, initiative and proper communication skills; provide instructional aide support in classrooms grades K-8 following the directions of the teacher; help support the school’s Zero Waste Recycling project through student/parent supervision. 

 

  • Duties: 

    • At the direction of the classroom teacher(s), provide instructional aide support in assigned classrooms, K-8 

    • Supervise students in grades K-8 for all recesses 

    • Facilitate the resolution of conflicts using conflict resolution strategies (training provided as needed) 

    • Communicate in writing to teachers of students involved in conflicts what occurred and what the resolution was 

    • Effectively use the Linscott Community Curriculum (training provided) 

    • Support/enforce implemented lunch management system and Zero Waste recycling program 

    • Other duties as assigned by the Administrative Director

 

  • Training/Experience: 

    • Ability to communicate clearly when speaking and writing 

    • Experience working with children of a wide range of ages 

    • Ability to give and follow directions politely and supportively 

    • First Aid and CPR Certified (may be completed after hiring) 

    • Knowledge of Conflict Resolution Practices 

    • Work history of dependability and timeliness 

 

  • Abilities: 

    • Work effectively in a classroom/collaborative environment 

    • Work independently, prioritizing and organizing tasks 

    • Give and follow directions when communicating with students, parents, and staff
