Job Summary

Annual Salary: $127,305 - $155,753 per year (12 months) MA Stipend $650/DR Stipend $1,000 BCLAD Stipend $3,000 Mileage Stipend $2,700 District Cellphone Excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits Under the direction of the Associate Superintendent, Educational Services, provides services to schools that support the educational program for students with identified specialized needs such as learning handicapped students, home and hospital students, and other students with specialized needs and/or at-risk behaviors; coordinates the actions and activities of other agencies that collaborate with the schools of the district in support of student learning; monitors student records; and assures compliance for special education programs and/or other categorical programs in support of educational programs; provides support to teachers serving Inclusion students; provides direct supervision and evaluation for special education staff who report to the District Office; provides oversight for WACSEP personnel/programs assigned to the district; provides oversight for contract development and implementation for contracts dealing with special education; provides oversight of special education budget; with input from the Associate Superintendent of Human Resources, oversees hiring process and placement of special education staff.

Master’s degree Doctorate degree, desirable Qualify for a valid California Administrative Credential, desirable A valid Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing service as a school psychologist Successful experience with special education programs including serving as a school psychologist and the management of such programs Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity and respect for others; professional endorsement of exemplary leadership behaviors Cooperative efforts with administrators, instructional staff and parents; successful experience in assessment, diagnosis, and educational intervention of childhood exceptionalities

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to consistently sit for periods of time; talk or hear, in person and by telephone; use of hands and fingers to touch, feel or operate standard office equipment including technology, and reach with hands and arms; walking level surface, stand, bend and stoop; lifting objects 1-25 pounds; carry/push 1-25 pounds; specific vision abilities required include close vision to read and enter data into a computer; ability to distinguish sounds in transmission, speaking. Mental Requirements: Stress of deadlines, stress of interpersonal conflict, normal work standards stress, ability to work with interruptions, concentrate for long periods of time, reading, interpreting codes, laws, policy, calculate, perform routine math processes, memorize and recall objects, people, analyze problems and generate alternatives, reconcile apparent ambiguities, solve multi-variant problems. Appointment to this position predicated upon passing a post offer physical and submitting a negative TB result. In addition, the selected candidate must complete the state fingerprinting requirements and the district must receive a Certificate of Clearance by the California Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation. Within three days of employment, all new employees shall show appropriate documents, which certify that they are legally eligible to work in the United States. The Immigration Reform and Control Act require the district to obtain documentation from every individual who is employed which verifies identity and authorizes his/her right to work in the United States. Selected candidates will not begin work until a fingerprint clearance has been completed and submission of required documents.
