Purpose

The job of Information Technology Coordinator is done for the purpose/s of coordinating, planning, and organizing the daily operations and support services of the Information Technology department, ensuring effective and reliable technology resources for Shasta County Office of Education and its partners. This role involves directly supervising IT technicians and analysts to ensure high-quality service delivery and foster a productive team environment. The Coordinator contributes to the Shasta County Office of Education's mission to be leaders in educational excellence, by providing essential technology support that prepares students for success.

This job reports to the Director of Information Technology.

Essential Functions

?        Directly supervises, guides, and evaluates the performance of assigned IT technicians and analysts, ensuring departmental goals are met and fostering a productive and collaborative team   environment. ?        Coordinates the implementation and maintenance of IT services and systems (e.g., network operations, application support, hardware/software deployment, help desk functions) to meet the              needs of customer districts and SCOE departments.

?        Provides technical guidance and escalated support to the IT team and end-users, ensuring efficient resolution of IT issues and inquiries.

?        Participates in the development and implementation of internal IT policies, procedures, and planning for technology use within the County Office, contributing to equitable access and security            of digital assets.

?        Monitor physical security systems such as security cameras and electronic door access.

?        Collaborates with SCOE personnel and district staff to understand technology needs, identify training requirements, and coordinate professional development services for end-users and the IT            team.

?        Maintains a variety of manual and electronic files and/or records related to IT operations, inventory, and support tickets for up-to-date reference and compliance.

?        Prepares reports on IT service performance, project status, resource utilization and goal tracking.

?        Drive the continued increase in the cybersecurity footing of the County Office of Education.

?        Monitor work order ticket system and other methods of measuring customer support to ensure the department maintains extremely high standards of customer service.

?        Researches and evaluates new technologies, solutions, and best practices to "Aspire to improve and innovate" IT services and support within the County Office.

?        Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to regularly upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: Operating and troubleshooting standard office and IT equipment, including using pertinent software applications and network tools. Planning and managing IT projects. Preparing and maintaining accurate IT records and documentation. Counseling and mentoring IT employees. Evaluating staff performance and providing constructive feedback. Leading and motivating a technical team to achieve departmental objectives. Utilizing conflict resolution techniques. KNOWLEDGE is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: Current information technology systems, hardware, software, and network concepts. Concepts of grammar and punctuation. Relevant codes, laws, rules, regulations, and policies pertaining to data security and educational technology. Business telephone etiquette. Responsibility

Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; directly supervising and evaluating the performance of assigned IT technicians and analysts, leading, guiding, and coordinating their daily tasks and initiatives and operating within a defined budget related to specific projects or team needs. Utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. Working Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 70% sitting, 15% walking, and 15% standing.  This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

Experience     Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required, specifically within an information technology support environment, including experience in a lead or supervisory capacity.

Education       Bachelor’s degree in a job-related area, such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field.

Equivalency   Any combination equivalent to: a bachelor's degree and four years' increasingly responsible experience in an information technology support or coordination role, with demonstrated supervisory experience.

The stated education and experience requirements are the preferred minimum qualifications for this job.   However, relevant experience to substitute for the education requirement and relevant education, certificates and/or licenses to substitute for the experience requirement may be allowed.
