Job Summary
Position begins August 8, 2025 and requires full time in-person instruction. High School Virtual Academy Teacher - Must have ELL Authorization. This position will work full-time with students attending Lassen Virtual Academy. Will be responsible for classroom-style instruction, small group, and/or one on one instruction via internet, person and/or telephonic communications between the teacher and student.
Requirements / Qualifications
Authorized credential in appropriate subject area issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Valid Professional, Professional Clear, Standard Secondary, Preliminary Single Subject Credential in subject area, Short Term Staff Permit, or Provisional Internship Permit. Must have ELL authorization. Unofficial Transcripts - Official upon hire Resume Three current letters of recommendation - must be within the last 12 months Clear TB Test - Upon Hire Background Clearance (FBI/DOJ) - Upon Hire

The Lassen Union High School District is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Susanville, CA, which is approximately 2 hours from Redding, CA or 1.5 hours from Reno, NV.
All new teachers who sign teaching contracts with Lassen Union High School District will be paid a $2,500 signing bonus. After successful completion of the first year, and a signed contract for the second year you will be paid an additional $2,500 for a combined total of $5,000. The District pays $1,375.00 per month towards the benefit package for full-time teachers.
Salary Placement: Effective for new unit members hired for the 2016-2017 school year and thereafter, the District will grant up to a maximum of fifteen (15) years. 15 or more years is step 16.
