Requirements / Qualifications

The Vacancy: There is one full-time, 11 month, open position at a High School. This recruitment will also be used to fill future vacancies and substitute/temporary positions in this classification for up to six months. The Position: Under general supervision, to perform a variety of library media duties of average difficulty; to assist patrons in the use of library media equipment, facilities, materials, and services; and to do related work as required.

Required Qualifications: One year of library clerical experience or online library certificate through accredited university and/or college. The equivalent of graduation from high school and completion of at least two years of study (48-semester units or 60 quarter units) at an institution of higher education, or attainment of an Associate of Arts degree or higher. Any combination of training and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Proof of passing a typing test at a rate of a minimum of 45 net words per minute on a 5 minute typing test, which must be current within one year of the closing date. Selection Procedure: The selection process will consist of a written exam and a qualifications appraisal interview (each weighted 50%). The following must be submitted with the edjoin application:

  • Copy of Transcript (48 semester units or 60 quarter units)
  • Letter of Introduction
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three, no older than a year, signed and dated)
  • Resume
  • Typing Certificate (45 Net WPM from a 5 minute typing test.)
