Job Summary
Under supervision of the school nurse, assists in performing a variety of functions pertaining to student-health appraisal; assists in the care of ill or injured students; administer routine first aid and emergency treatment, maintain school health office, including recordkeeping and other clerical duties as requested by supervising nurse; performs other related work as required.
Requirements / Qualifications
CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid and current First Aid Certificate issued by the American Red Cross; California Licensed Vocational Nurse Certificate; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate, valid California Driver's License; own and drive a car.
TRAINING: Any other combination of experience, training, and/or education that could likely provide the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by coursework or training in health care, office management and related technical skills. EXPERIENCE: Three years of responsible health care experience, either in a hospital or other health care facility.
