Vista Hill is looking to hire a full time, experienced, and energetic Director of Education Services to be the lead administrator of Stein Education Center. The Sam and Rose Stein Education Center is a Non-Public School (NPS) which serves Developmentally Disabled students ages 5 to 22 who are unable to attend public schools. There is a school and an after-school program on the same site. The work environment is challenging but rewarding. This is a year-round position. The Sam and Rose Stein Education Center is a Non-Public School (NPS) which serves Developmentally Disabled students ages 5 to 22 who are unable to attend public schools. There is a school and an after-school program on the same site. The work environment is challenging but rewarding. An example of tasks include: * Ensure school is operating according to legal, ethical, and professional standards at all times. * Indirect supervision of 100+ aides and other support staff. * Administrative and curriculum oversight of all school programs and professional staff. * Budget preparation & oversight. Review monthly financials. * Keep current with developments in legislature and standards of care in the DD community, and disseminate relevant information to staff as appropriate. * Develop and implement program improvements/expansion/reduction in response to need. * May attend meetings (IEP’s) for support and progress updates. * Builds and maintains relationships with schools, other community providers, and any other programs as necessary. * Ensures accurate and timely records are maintained for each student. * Participate in community committee and /or events as needed to resolve common issues and encourage coordination regarding development disabilities. * Represent SEC and VHF before public and community agencies, associations, and organizations. * Be alert to parent concerns, maintain positive relationships with parents and consider developing parent education opportunities. * Provides cri

Per Education code 56366.1(a)(5) and 56366.2(n)(2), the NPS administrator must hold or be in the process of obtaining one of the following: 1) An administrative credential (by an accredited postsecondary educational institution) and two years of experience with pupils with disabilities. 2) A pupil personnel services credential that authorizes school counseling or psychology. 3) A license as a clinical social worker (issued by the Board of Behavioral Sciences). 4) A license in psychology (regulated by the Board of Psychology). 5) A master’s degree in education, special education, psychology, counseling, behavioral analysis, social work, behavioral science, or rehabilitation (issued by an accredited postsecondary institution). 6) A credential authorizing special education instruction and at least two years of experience teaching in special education before becoming an administrator. 7) A license as a marriage and family therapist (certified by the Board of Behavioral Sciences). 8) A license as an educational psychologist (issued by the Board of Behavioral Sciences). 9) A license as a professional clinical counselor (issued by the Board of Behavioral Sciences)
