These positions are through Developing Outdoors, an employer organization providing staff for the OPUSD Extended Care Program. Exceptional staff wanted for the 2025-2026 Oak Park Unified School District (OPUSD) Extended Care Program! We're seeking fun, creative, and nurturing individuals to provide a high-quality experience for the students of the OPUSD program, operating on four campuses, before and after school. Our staff are dependable, knowledgeable, and professional, and are available to maintain a part-time schedule for the course of the school year. Contract runs from July 30, 2025 through June 12, 2026. Extended Care Mentors are required to have a high school diploma or equivalent and are encouraged to be CPR/1st Aid Certified. The role of an Extended Care Mentor includes but is not limited to:
Assisting in the preparation of materials and activities, as well as other duties as defined by the Site Supervisor/Assistant Site Supervisor Assisting with plans, organization, and implementation of age-appropriate activities that meet the individual needs and the developmental needs of the children, as well as homework-helping Promoting social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth of the children while treating them with dignity and respect; utilizing a patient, sensible, and respectful tone and demeanor Assisting children in learning to think creatively, to solve problems independently, and to respect themselves and others Promoting and maintaining good communication, rapport, and working relationships with other staff members Staff members are hired and employed by Developing Outdoors.
