Job Summary
Public Information Officer PCN#260039 Under the direct supervision of the Superintendent or designee, the Public Information Officer plans, develops, and implements a program of internal and external communication an public relations to enhance community awareness, knowledge, understanding, and interest in the educational programs offered by the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District. Implement strategic communications regarding all aspects of the District's public information plan; advise upon and manage effective media, community, and public relations; facilitate a variety of public information and community relations activities, events, projects, inclusive to internal and external communications. Provide leadership as a member of the Superintendent's cabinet.
Requirements / Qualifications
~Bachelor's degree in business, public relations, marketing, behavior science, journalism, mass communications, broadcasting or related discipline: OR ~Minimum of three years of professional experience in a communication-related field including experience using social media and other technology for professional purposes, desktop publishing, videography: OR ~Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge, skills and abilities required ~Master's degree in communications, public administration, educational leadership, or a related field, preferred ~Experience in an educational setting or government agency is preferred **Preference given to candidates who possess the following: FEMA Social Media in Emergency Management; National Information Officers Association (NIOA) Social Media for PIOs; Government Social Media Organization (GSMO) Training & Certification; Hootsuite Social Medial Marketing Certifications; Facebook (Meta) Blueprint Certification
