Job Summary
The Director of Special Education oversees the management and coordination of all special education programs and services for students with disabilities, ensuring full compliance with state and federal regulations. This role includes developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), supervising and evaluating special education staff, coordinating specialized services and supports for students, and helping to ensure inclusion in general education settings. The Director also serves as a liaison with county programs, nonpublic schools, and the community, leads professional development for staff, prepares required reports, and represents TEACH Public Schools at meetings and board sessions.
