The Online Teacher supports students in meeting their educational goals and ensuring they are successful in an online independent study environment. Required duties include preparation and delivery of live instruction, homeroom and administrative responsibilities, and completion of all required documentation. Teachers are expected to uphold the school's mission and shared values, philosophy, policies and procedures. Content Duties: Lesson Plans: Lessons will be provided as available. Plan for 1-2 hours of additional lesson plan review and development per week. Live Sessions: Two to three 1-hour live sessions covering Middle School Art 1 and Middle School Art 2 on Mondays and Fridays between 10am and 12:15pm Office Hours: Be available between 9am and 3pm daily; hold calendar space for 10 hours of content tutoring per week. Learning Management System: Edgenuity, Google Classroom; monitor student progress, performance, grade art projects, enter progress report grades/comments into SIS Number of Content Students: 100-150 Homeroom Duties: Maximum of 22 students; Daily meeting at 9am; twice weekly power hour (structured tutoring support) at 1pm on Tue/Thur; individual check in with students and parents to review weekly progress; IEP/504 Meeting attendance as needed; claiming attendance weekly; holding adequate progress/attendance conferences
Requirements / Qualifications
If selected for employment, candidates must reside and work within the State of California during the term of their employment as per board policy. Employees must reside within the state of California for the duration of their employment with CalPac. While the majority of job duties may be completed in the remote office, the incumbent in this job classification may be directed to provide in-person services, perform assessments, or attend field trips, meetings, trainings, or conferences in person as determined by the supervisor. CalPac assists employees with travel arrangements where airline or hotel accommodations are necessary. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A valid and current California State Single Subject Art teaching credential A copy of the credential must be provided at the time of application and kept current for the duration of the assignment. Authorization to teach English learners State and federal background clearance (LiveScan) to work with students (Education Code Section 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and Human Resources notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance. Must be cleared of any egregious misconduct by all former school employers as per AB 2534. Proof of a clear TB test dated within the last 60 days (Education Code Section 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four years.
