Administrative Assistant / School Operations, under supervision of the site Principal or designee, perform a wide variety of clerical and specialized and responsible pupil personnel duties.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and Application of:
District and school policies and procedures as they apply; Methods and practices of office management involving data processing and other computer equipment; Operation of office machines used in a modern office environment; Formats and procedures for entering and retrieving various types of data; Record keeping techniques; Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary; Oral and written communication skills; Report formats, inventory and control procedures, and deadlines; Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; Applicable sections of the State Education Code and other applicable laws.

?Operate a variety of modern office equipment including; but not limited to, typewriters, computers, 10 Key adding machines, copiers, duplicators, fax machines.
?Perform secretarial work of above average difficulty without supervision
?Apply interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
?Type 40 words (net) per minute from clear copy
?Review, code, check, and enter data on a computer
?Verify accuracy and completeness of documents and process data
?Make simple arithmetic calculations with accuracy
?Compile, maintain, and submit accurate and complete records and reports
?Read, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures
?Perform clerical duties such as filing, duplication, typing and maintaining records
?Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others
?Meet schedules and deadlines
?Speak and understand Spanish is desirable
?Plan and organize vs. utilize time management and organizational skills
?Work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations
?Stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION
May include, but not limited to:
1.Perform a wide variety of specialized and responsible administrative works independently; interpret and apply rules and regulations as appropriate
2.Review, check, correct and compile a variety of information; verify data for accuracy, completeness and compliance with established procedures; input and retrieve computerized data in computer systems as required
3.Prepare and maintain a variety of records, logs, and files including information of a confidential nature; maintain confidentiality of information and records
4.Respond to requests for information from students, staff, and the general public regarding District attendance programs, policies, procedures, and regulations
5.Greet public, staff, and students, and provides information and makes referrals to appropriate personnel
6.Arranges appointments, events, and meetings, including notifying participants, reserving facilities and coordinating details
7.Creates and develops Master Schedules
8.Assist in the scheduling students
9.Assist in the documentation of expulsion and other disciplinary actions
10.Represents the school at SARB hearings and monitors any directives
11.Hold parent conferences to discuss discipline and or academic needs of students
12.Assist in the student study team procedure and implementation of recommendations and or directives
13.Assist in after school extra curricular activities and supervision
14.Performs related duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required; Course work in secretarial science, business and/or office practices, or related field is desirable; Two (2) years of responsible secretarial experience required.
Conditions of Employment:
First Aid Certificate required; CPR considered an enhancement/not required
Valid California Drivers License required
Typing Certificate of 40 WPM
