Job Summary Rooted in the Mission of the Academy of Our Lady of Peace (OLP) and the charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, the School Safety and Security Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment where all students can flourish. This leadership position is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of campus safety, emergency preparedness, and security protocols, while modeling respectful, compassionate engagement with students, staff, families, and visitors. *OLP will consider qualified applicants with a criminal history pursuant to the California Fair Chance Act. You do not need to disclose your criminal history or participate in a background check until a conditional job of er is made to you. After making a conditional of er and running a background check, if OLP is concerned about a conviction that is directly related to the job, you will be given the chance to explain the circumstances surrounding the conviction, provide mitigating evidence, or challenge the accuracy of the background report. Requirements / Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, emergency management, public safety, or a related field preferred. Minimum of two-five years supervising adolescents in an educational or comparable setting. Prior experience in law enforcement, security services, school safety, or emergency management is strongly preferred. Familiarity with mental health crisis response or experience collaborating with PERT or similar program is strongly preferred. Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. Skills and Attributes: Strong leadership, critical thinking, and interpersonal communication skills. Calm and confident demeanor in high-stress or emergency situations. Demonstrated ability to manage conflict with empathy and effectiveness. High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism. Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education. Physical and Environmental Demands Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods in all weather conditions. Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate physical tasks (bending, climbing, etc.) as needed. Ability to see, hear, and respond promptly in situations that require vigilance. Work may require early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends. Required to wear a designated uniform during work hours. May occasionally be called upon to provide transportation for students or guests. Must successfully pass a background check and fingerprint clearance.
