Job Summary
Under the general of the Nutrition Services Director and or Nutritional Services Supervisor to direct food services personnel at school sites to perform job functions in a safe and efficient manner; manages a kitchen serving less than 2,000 meals per day; provide for safe and efficient food services at the assigned sites that meet the required daily nutritional needs of students; ensures availability of food and supply of items; provides written support to convey information; complies with mandated health requirements; other related work as required.
Requirements / Qualifications
1. Participate in Nutritional Services Manager Team meetings. 2. Trains, directs Nutritional Service employees at the site for the purpose of assisting the individuals to perform their functions in a safe and efficient manner. 3. Manages a site operation at a small to medium school site, including at an elementary school or middle schools site, including special programs for the purpose of providing safe and efficient food services at the assigned site, in compliance with mandated health & CURFL (California Uniform Retail Food Laws) requirements. 4. Maintains documents information (e.g. menus. daily production records, time cards, \work orders, Attendance/ Substitute Reporting System, PARS, etc.) 5. Implements menu plans for the purpose of meeting mandated daily nutritional requirements of students and department safety program in kitchen area. 6. Inventories and requisitions food, condiments, and supplies for the purpose of ensuring availability of items. 7. Inspects food items and supplies for the purpose of verifying accurate quantities of orders. 8. Stocks food items and supplies for the purpose of maintaining adequate quantities for food and supplies. 9. In the absence of the kitchen staff, performs functions and responsibilities for the purpose of providing overall coverage of food site services operation. 10. Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information. This includes collecting monies, preparing cash receipts, bank deposits. 11. Oversee maintenance of the kitchen, storeroom, freezers and kitchen office in a neat and organized manner. 12. Implement and follow a HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) food safety program. 13. Ensures overall production quality control. 14. Procures food items from vendors for the purpose of ensuring availability of necessary supplies in quantities adequate to prepare meals as planned 15. Maintains food and supply costs at department standards.
16. Maintains food preparation equipment at proper sanitation and safety levels. 17. Monitor temperatures of all freezer, walk-in, reach-ins 18. Directs the transport and delivery of hot and cold food items for the purpose of ensuring the availability of food items in accordance with the site requirements. 19. Oversee safety and sanitation of kitchen facility for the purpose of maintaining a clean and safe environment to ensure the health of employees. 20. Oversees assigned site's catering request for the purpose of providing request services in an efficient and timely manner for example PAC meetings. 21. Receives and transports funds for the purpose of securing money collected and preparing funds for deposits in accordance with district requirements. 22.
