Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Principals, this itinerant position will work with elementary students (Tk-5) on a rotating basis providing fine art enrichment. The Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) teacher provides specialized expertise in the visual and performing arts through use of the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Content Standards and Framework for California Public Schools. Creates a flexible TK-5 instructional program and class environment conducive to student growth and positive learning outcomes. Establishes effective rapport with students to motivate them to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further participation in the total school program, in accordance with each student’s ability and to meet the VAPA Content Standards for California in Visual Arts. The specific area could be in theater, music, dance, or other fine art medium.

Requirements / Qualifications

Letter of Intent Resume 2 Letters of Reference (Written within the last 18 months) Candidates must hold a valid California teaching credential, which may include a Single Subject Credential in Music with a Supplemental Authorization to teach related VAPA classes and English Learner Authorization, or a Multiple Subject Credential with a Supplementary Authorization in music and other VAPA fields, along with authorization to teach English learners.

Experience preferred Ability to travel to different schools
