Job Summary

BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of a program administrator, perform the necessary tasks to implement health policies, procedures, and emergency/medical health care plans; ensure health compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and California Community Care Licensing requirements; assess, refer and provide for the health needs of enrolled Head Start children and expectant mothers; develop and disseminate health education information to teachers, parents, and children.

Requirements / Qualifications

SCOE Edjoin Application California Vocational Nurse License Valid Healthcare Provider and CPR Certification Driver's License EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from an accredited Vocational Nurses Program and one year vocational nursing experience. Upon hire or within (6) months of hire, valid Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) approved CPR and First Aid Certification covering adult, child, and infant (pediatric) using any of the following curricula: - - - - American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), or - American Heart Association (AHA), or - American Red Cross (ARC), or - Pediatric CPR and First Aid offered at accredited colleges and universities

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS: The following documents are not required at the time of application but will be required of the selected applicant prior to employment: Official Transcripts, valid Driver’s License, required to provide own transportation in the course of employment, must have proof of insurance and maintain insurability, Department of Justice FBI Fingerprint clearance, Child Abuse Central Index (CACI) clearance, Tuberculosis clearance & Pre-Employment Physical/Drug Screen clearance. Mandated Reporter training required within first 6 weeks of employment. Must be at least 18 years of age.
