Job Summary
POSITION DESCRIPTION The Teacher, Impact will collaborate with classroom teachers and provide individual or small group instruction to students who need support with grade-level core content. The Teacher, Impact will provide a wide range of strategies associated with students needing support with literacy and math. The Teacher, Impact will also provide on-going guidance and strategies on the integration of Math and English/Language Arts intervention in Alternative Education programs. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Develops intervention strategies to help students improve academic skills; • Implements assessments to evaluate students' abilities and needs; • Identifies which students may require intervention assistance; • Provides individual or small group instruction to students who require academic support; • Monitors, reports, and communicates student progress and performance; • Collaborates with colleagues and the community regarding intervention strategies; • Develops and maintains effective relationships with Student Services school staff, other SBCSS branches, public and private agencies, and community organizations; • Identifies and shares promising/best practices; • Recommends strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including English Learners, foster youth, socioeconomically disadvantaged, special education, and high-achieving students; • Maintains data to monitor achievement trends and program effectiveness; • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of a valid California Clear Multiple Subject teaching or Single Subject credential authorizing teaching in Math or English; • Possession of a valid California Clear Mild to Moderate teaching credential; • Possession of an English Learner Authorization or the ability to immediately obtain an authorization; • Three (3) years of classroom experience; • Experience with assessment, data analysis, intervention, and various core and supplemental curriculum; • Experience working with diverse student groups; • Possession of a valid driver’s license for California and use of personal transportation is required. (SBCSS vehicle not provided).
