Function of Position:
Under general supervision, plan, organize, teach and evaluate an educational program in Foreign Language (Spanish) for secondary students.
Typical Duties:
Teach classes in Foreign Language (Spanish) to secondary students; instruct pupils in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other general elements of the course of study common to all teachers; individualize instruction to meet student needs; evaluate each student's ability to speak, understand, read and write the foreign language; encourage students to participate in local cultural activities that relate to foreign culture; establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior necessary for productive classroom environment; maintain all required records; participate in non-classroom supervision of students as assigned; attend staff meetings, parent conferences and back-to-school meetings as required; participate in professional growth activities; carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal or other supervisor.
