Extended Care Aide Good Shepherd School, a Catholic elementary school (Kindergarten - Grade 8) located in Pacifica, seeks an aide. The main role of the extended care aide is to assist families in extended care and at school, monitoring students, assisting them in homework, making sure they are watched and safe. Additionally, the aide assists in reducing the teacher-student ratio during the program. The aide assists the Extended Care Director and school administration with the after-school program, which primarily operates Monday through Friday (Mondays 2pm-6pm, Tuesday-Friday 3pm-6pm), with some minimum day dismissals (12pm-6pm) and provides an opportunity for GSS students to play, snack, and work on homework after school hours. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: - Report to school, and setup extended care, thirty minutes prior to opening - Supervising students at play and during activities and projects - Facilitating homework support for students - Assisting with snacks - Monitoring sign-in and dismissal of students - Assist with keeping students on task and provide additional assistance with individual students or small groups who need extra help or monitoring to complete homework - Monitor groups of students signing in and out of enrichment programs, i.e. CYO, Drama, Music, other enrichments, - Assist with student questions and student behavior - Assist with clerical work including filing, copying, assigned - Perform playground supervision duties - Maintain a clean working environment - Perform other duties as assigned Prerequisites: - Four-year undergraduate degree (preference or equivalent) - Experience working with school age children - Comfortable working in a Catholic school environment - Current First Aid/AED/CPR certification Salary: $20.00 per hour Hours: Part-time (1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Mondays, 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays, and 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on a minimum day, these days will be provided in
