Founded in 1959, Sacramento Waldorf School (SWS) is the oldest Waldorf school in Northern California, offering a nurturing and holistic education from Early Childhood through Twelfth Grade. Situated on a beautiful 22-acre campus along the American River, our school is home to over 450 students and features a 3.5-acre working farm, providing rich opportunities for outdoor and environmental education. Job Summary
* Classroom Leadership: Establish and maintain a warm, engaging, and structured learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and inspired. * Curriculum Implementation: Plan and teach developmentally appropriate, Waldorf-inspired lessons that cultivate literacy, numeracy, and a love of learning. * Student Development: Support students’ social, emotional, and cognitive growth through creative and engaging teaching methods. * Collaboration: Work closely with specialty subject teachers, faculty colleagues, and administration to provide a well-rounded learning experience. * Parent Communication: Build strong, positive relationships with parents, keeping them informed about their child’s progress and fostering a collaborative home-school partnership. * Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training, mentorship, and faculty development to continue growing as an educator. * School Participation: Engage in school-wide initiatives, faculty meetings, and community-building activities to enrich the broader SWS community.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree required. * Certificate of Completion in Waldorf Teaching required. * Previous experience as a Waldorf Class Teacher preferred.
