Saint Thomas the Apostle Preschool is part of the larger Saint Monica-Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish operation. The preschool is located on the Saint Thomas the Apostle Church campus and Saint Monica Elementary School is located on the Saint Monica Church campus. Both schools collaborate within the larger parish. Seeking Preschool Director Title: Preschool Director Reports To: Elementary School Principal and Pastor/Administrator Office/ Dept: Preschool Campus of Saint Monica-Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish FLSA Status: Full Time, Exempt ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Job Description): General Responsibilities • Know and understand St. Philip Preschool mission, philosophy, and policies • Ensure that the preschool philosophy is being maintained in the classroom at all times • Follow procedures and policies stated in the Faculty/Staff and Family Handbooks • Ensure that all children are properly supervised at all times • Participate actively in maintaining order in the classroom and playground • Maintain ratio required by State Licensing and Saint Thomas the Apostle Preschool policies • Ensure that the preschool maintains compliance with all licensing regulations and policies of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, including record keeping • Work collaboratively with preschool business manager • Supervise and formally evaluate all preschool staff (approximately 15 teachers) • Plan and provide staff development opportunities and training • Collaborate with teachers to plan instructional activities and lessons which promote developmentally appropriate learning • Oversee and formally evaluate the curriculum • Be in the classroom teaching and monitoring the children • Regularly inspect equipment and play areas to ensure safety and cleanliness
