Job Summary

The Board of Trustees of the Panama-Buena Vista Union School District invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Program Specialist, Innovation & Improvement. The Program Specialist will provide leadership, staff development, and training related to Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), particularly focused on vulnerable populations, as well as support district attendance and behavior programs/initiatives. In addition, the position will assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating related programs for Foster & McKinney-Vento students, attendance, behavior, and safety. The Program Specialist will be under the direct supervision of the Director III, Innovation & Improvement in the Educational Services Division.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Function as the District Foster and McKinney-Vento Liaison.
  • Ensure proper identification and immediate school enrollment for Foster and McKinney-Ventostudents, collaborating with previous schools, child welfare agencies, and caregivers to securenecessary documentation.
  • Maintains accurate records related to Foster and McKinney-Vento programs, ensuring compliancewith relevant regulations.
  • Coordinate various needs of McKinney-Vento students, including, but not limited to, transportation, clothing, and food assistance etc.
  • Support District attendance efforts to improve attendance and reduce chronic absenteeism.
  • Facilitate School Attendance Review Board (SARB) procedures.
  • Assist in developing and conducting training in topics such as, but not limited to, Foster Youth, McKinney-Vento students, MTSS, attendance, safety, and behavior to enhance awareness, improvestudent outcomes, and ensure equitable access to resources and services.
  • Other duties related to the position as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Valid California teaching and/or services credential  Three to five years of teaching and/or coaching experience Master's degree required from an accredited college or university with a major in education or a related field

SALARY AND TERMS OF SERVICE Annual Salary Range: $108,502 - $131,229 nine (9) steps, 204 working days per year, eight (8) hours per day.  Placement on the salary schedule is determined by the number of years of previous experience in similar position. $2,500/year stipend for a Doctorate Degree; Longevity of $1,500 after 15 years of qualified District service and $3,500 after 20 years of qualified District service.Additional days, evenings/weekends as needed to perform related job duties and responsibilities. The District currently contributes up to $19,793.00  per year to family dental, medical, and vision insurance plans and a life insurance plan for employee only.
