Under the supervision of the Adult School Principal and Adult School program Coordinator the Adult Basic & Secondary Education, High School Diploma/Equivalency Teacher provides instruction to adult learners working toward a high school diploma or high school equivalency (e.g., HiSET) or improving their basic skills. This position supports students in developing academic skills in core subjects, including math, reading, writing, science, and social studies, in both in-person and virtual learning environments. The teacher plays a key role in instruction, student assessment, individualized support, and program improvement, while maintaining accurate records and engaging in collaborative planning.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university highly desired Possession of a Valid California Teaching Credential: Designated Subjects Adult Education or Single or Multiple CLAD authorization or English Learner certification Valid CA Driver’s License Experience teaching high school-level academic content and lower-level content to adult learners. Experience delivering instruction in in-person, online, and hybrid environments. Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred
