Job Summary
Elementary PE Aides at SLCUSD assist a teacher with a variety of instructional support tasks relating to the elementary school physical education program, work with small and large groups of students, and perform related duties as assigned. These are itinerant positions; the Aide follows the same schedule as the Elementary PE Teacher as they go from site-to-site. The current vacancy is for a position that is 29 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and will work between Hawthorne Elementary in San Luis Obispo, and Del Mar Elementary in Morro Bay.

PURPOSE: To fill a current vacancy for an assignment that will work between two elementary schools in San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay, and to establish an eligibility list to fill vacancies that may occur within six months.
Oral Board Interviews: planned schedule for July 22. Time will be determined after posting closes.
WORK YEAR: 180-Days/Year, school days only. Start date is August 14, and is dependent upon Fingerprint and TB clearances.
The District Application covering relevant knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience will be evaluated on a job-related basis. Applications passing with minimum qualifications and above will be contacted to attend the oral board interviews planned for July 16, 2025. Minimal passing score is 70. Those who score in the top three ranks from the oral boards will advance to the hiring interviews.
SPECIAL NOTES: 1) Correctly filling out forms and following other instructions contained in this notice are part of the testing process. 2) Applicants with disabilities must notify the Personnel Office of any special needs so that adequate preparation may be made for their testing. 3) Veterans qualifying for the oral board examination may receive 5 additional points added to their final score if proof of discharge is submitted at time of oral board interview. A "veteran" as used here means any person who served in the United States armed forces or National Guard, in time of war, or national emergency. 4) Eligibility lists are established for a period of six months.
