Job Summary

This position requires a valid Math teaching credential. The teaching assignment may vary each year and could include a combination of general math classes and/or intervention classes. For the current year, the focus will be on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) using an SEL curriculum, test-taking strategies, CAASPP Bootcamp, targeted intervention, and more, with the goal of supporting middle and/or high school students in Mathematics. The High School Math Teacher is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering math instruction to students in grades 7 through 12 in accordance with Bellflower School District curriculum standards. This role requires the ability to engage diverse learners, assess student progress, and utilize technology effectively for classroom management and instruction. The teacher will contribute to a positive and collaborative school environment focused on student achievement and growth.

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field. Valid California teaching credential in Secondary Mathematics. Demonstrated knowledge of state standards and best practices in math instruction. Experience using educational technology and data systems. Preferred: Master’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field. Previous teaching experience in a high school setting. Experience with differentiated instruction and intervention strategies.
