Job Summary:
VerbaCare Inc is hiring California-licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) to provide school-based speech therapy support to students in grades K–12 throughout Contra Costa County for the 2025–26 school year. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with students under the supervision of credentialed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), helping students with communication disorders reach their full potential.
Whether you're a new SLPA graduate or an experienced assistant, we invite you to join our supportive, student-centered team in East Bay public and charter schools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small-group speech therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed SLP
- Support students with articulation, expressive/receptive language, fluency, voice, and pragmatic/social communication
- Prepare therapy materials, schedule sessions, and assist in IEP documentation
- Collect data on student performance and assist in progress monitoring
- Use school-based systems such as SEIS, SIRAS, or district-specific platforms (training provided)
- Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, school psychologists, and families
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with HIPAA, and district policies
- Support inclusive practices and equitable education for students with diverse needs
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree or certificate from a CAA-accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program
- Current California SLPA license (or eligibility to obtain license by start date)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Willingness to work in public or charter school settings
- Experience with IEPs, data collection, and school documentation systems preferred, but not required
