Nevada City School of the Arts (NCSOTA), a TK-8 charter school in operation since 1994, is seeking a dynamic, culturally aware, stimulating and qualified Afterschool Caregiver to join our team. JOB TITLE: ELECTIVE TEACHER - BEGINNING GUITAR SCHEDULE: 2025/26 School Year - Part-time 4 hrs/wk WAGE: $30-$40 per hour, depending on experience SUMMARY: The Nevada City School of the Arts is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Beginning Guitar Teacher to join our music department. This position will involve teaching middle school students the fundamentals of guitar in a supportive and engaging classroom environment. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching beginners, a love for music, and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere. At the Nevada City School of the Arts, we are committed to providing a well-rounded education that fosters academic, artistic, and personal growth. Our music program encourages students to explore their musical talents while developing important life skills such as teamwork, discipline, and creativity. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach Beginning Guitar Classes: Lead classes of up to 15 middle school students, introducing them to the basics of playing guitar, including proper technique, chord progressions, simple songs, and reading music. Lesson Planning: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to a variety of learning styles, ensuring that all students are able to progress at their own pace. Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment where all students feel comfortable and motivated to learn. Assess Student Progress: Monitor and assess students' progress throughout the course, providing constructive feedback and offering additional support to students as needed. Individualized Instruction: Offer one-on-one guidance to students who may need extra help with specific skills or concepts. Collaborate with the Music Department: Work closely w
