POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Workability Coordinator is responsible for career education for special education students and implementing the District’s Workability Project. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: E=essential duties The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Explain program to special education staff, students, parents, counselors, etc. E 2. Identify, recruit, and assess potential participants. E 3. Consult with teachers, ROP teachers, counselors, employers, as needed. E 4. Prepare training materials; provide trainings to staff and students. E 5. Promote the program in the community; job development (establishes job training sites/job opportunities) E 6. Provide job coaching when necessary. E 7. Assist students in job related skills. E 8. Assist with pre-employment and work maturity employment competencies. E 9. Assist classroom presentations, as needed, on careers or job seeking skills. E 10. Set up and maintain files on each participant. E 11. Develop and manage Workability grant and budget. E 12. Ensure district compliance with the State’s Workability Program requirements. E 13. Provide support to students and employers to ensure positive employment. E 14. Organizing field trips to career fairs and colleges. E 15. Assist students examine their needs, interest and skills, and provide information about career possibilities. E 16. Provide career counseling. E 17. Assist special education staff to assist students to develop career oriented skills, such as writing, resumes, filling out employment applications, participating in mock interviews, establishing connections with other agencies to support students after high school. E 18. Administer career assessment measures. E 19. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICA
