Job Summary

Job Summary

The Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instructions reports directly to the school principal and is responsible for areas of the school including, but not limited to, curriculum, classroom instruction, instructional technology, student assessment and evaluation, teacher supervision, professional development, student and event supervision, and student services. The Assistant Principal is also one of the school’s leaders and is responsible for supporting the Principal in engaging key constituents such as students, staff, parents/caregivers, and the community while assisting with creating a school culture that engages and empowers individuals. The assistant principal will assume the role of principal in his/her absence.

Requirements / Qualifications

ACADEMIC TRAINING AND CREDENTIALS: Master's Degree. Valid appropriate California Administrative Credential authorizing service as a high school assistant principal. EXPERIENCE: Strong background with a record of successful experience as a teacher; ability to provide leadership in standards-based curriculum and instruction to the staff at the high school level. OTHER PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to involve, establish rapport, and work effectively with high school teachers, students, counselors, parents and classified personnel; effective communication skills, both verbal and written; sound organizational and planning ability; knowledge of, and involvement with, effective instructional programs.
